Gutter Installation and Repair in Covington

We replace sagging, leaking and undersized gutters with continuous aluminum runs. Each run is hung on hidden hangers and pitched so water reaches the downspout instead of soaking your fascia. You get a free estimate, a start date we can hold, and an arrival window the day before.

What gutter work fixes, and when it's the right call

Your gutters collect the runoff from every roof plane and carry it to a few downspouts, which should release it well clear of the fascia, the siding and the foundation. When that system breaks down, the first symptom is rarely the gutter itself. It's peeling paint on the trim, a damp basement wall or a spongy section of fascia hidden behind the trough.

A lot of older gutters were hung with spikes and ferrules driven straight through into the fascia. Every freeze and thaw loosens them a little, the run loses its slope, and water sits in the middle instead of draining. Resetting a few hangers can save a short run. If the aluminum is split at the seams, the fascia is rotted, or the gutter is too small for the roof area feeding it, replacement is the better answer, and we'll tell you plainly which one you have.

Most gutter jobs take a single day. We say so up front, confirm an arrival window the evening before, and call you if rain or a material delivery moves the date.

What our gutter work includes

Continuous aluminum runs
Each run is formed to the full length of the wall, so the only joints are at the corners and end caps. Fewer seams means fewer places for sealant to dry out and leak.
Hidden hangers set to pitch
Hangers go in about every two feet and are screwed into the fascia and rafter tails rather than spiked. We snap a line for a slope of roughly a quarter inch per ten feet so water runs toward the outlet instead of pooling.
Downspouts sized to the roof
When a large roof plane drains to one corner, a 3x4 downspout carries far more water than a standard 2x3. We place outlets so no single downspout is overloaded, then add extensions or splash blocks to carry water away from the foundation.
Fascia and drip edge check
With the old gutter off, the fascia board is finally visible. Soft or rotted sections are replaced before the new gutter goes up, and we confirm the drip edge or gutter apron sends roof water into the trough, not behind it.
Targeted repairs
Not every gutter needs replacing. We reseal leaking miters and end caps, re-hang sagging sections, swap crushed elbows and clear packed outlets.

Signs your gutters need attention

  • Water sheeting over the front edge

If rain spills over the lip during a steady storm, the outlet is clogged, the slope is wrong, or the gutter is too small for the roof above it.

  • Spikes backing out of the fascia

When the trough leans away from the board and you can see daylight behind it, the fasteners are losing their grip. Rain then slips down the back side of the gutter and soaks into the wood.

  • Stained or peeling trim

Dark streaks on the fascia or flaking paint on the soffit point to water escaping at a seam or overflowing in the same spot every rain.

  • Drips at the corners

Miters and end caps rely on sealant. Once it cracks, you'll see a steady drip line or a worn patch in the mulch below.

  • Ice ridges along the edge in winter

Water that can't drain freezes in the trough, adds weight to every hanger and can back up under the first course of shingles.

  • Soggy ground near a downspout

A downspout that empties against the foundation keeps the soil saturated, and that moisture finds its way into basement walls.

How a gutter job runs, from estimate to cleanup

  1. 1

    Free estimate and measurements

We measure every run, note which roof planes drain where and check the fascia from a ladder. You get a written line-item estimate that separates gutters, downspouts and any wood repair.

  2. 2

A date you can plan around

Once you approve, we order material and give you a start date. The evening before, we call with an arrival window. If weather or a delivery pushes things back, you hear it from us first, along with the new date.

  3. 3

    Tear-off and fascia repair

The old gutters come down, rotted fascia is cut out and replaced, and ladders go up on standoffs so they don't crush the new metal or scuff your shingles.

  4. 4

    Hang, seal and water test

New runs are hung to the snapped line, miters and end caps are sealed, and downspouts are fastened. Before we pack up, we run a hose at the high end of each run to confirm water reaches the outlet.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and walk-through

We haul away the old metal, sweep the yard with a magnet for loose screws, and walk around your home with you to show what was done.

What moves the price of gutter work

Gutter pricing comes from the house itself, so we measure before we quote. Your written estimate lists each item separately, and anything we find once the old gutters are off is shown to you before it's added. We're also running a Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call offer; ask about it on the phone.

Linear footage and corners
Total length sets most of the material cost, and every inside or outside miter adds cutting and sealing time.
Gutter size and metal gauge
A 6-inch gutter in .032 aluminum handles more water and holds its shape better than 5-inch in thinner stock, and it costs more. We recommend the larger size only where the roof area calls for it.
Fascia condition
Rotted fascia has to be replaced before anything is hung on it. We can't always see the full extent until the old gutter comes down, which is why it's priced as its own line.
Height and access
Two-story walls, steep yards and tight side lots take longer ladder setups and more care.
Downspouts and drainage
The number of downspouts, upsizing to 3x4 and adding extensions all change the total.

Gutter questions we hear

Something not covered here? (859) 249-8975

Should I replace my gutters at the same time as my roof?

If a roof replacement is coming within a year or two, it usually makes sense to coordinate. The new drip edge and the new gutters should be set together so roof water lands in the trough. We can schedule both as one project, gutters going up after the roof is finished.

Do I need 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

The answer comes from the square footage of roof feeding each run, along with its pitch, since steeper planes shed water faster. Smaller, simple roofs often do fine with 5-inch. Long runs under large or steep planes benefit from 6-inch with 3x4 downspouts, and we'll show you the measurements behind our recommendation.

How long does installation take, and do I need to be home?

A typical house is finished in one day. You don't need to be home while we work, but we like to walk the finished job with you or send you photos if you're away. Either way, you'll get the arrival window the evening before.

Who stands behind the gutter work once it's done?

We do. Our company is licensed and insured, and gutter installations are covered by our 10-year labor warranty. If a hanger we set lets go or a seam we sealed leaks because of how it was installed, we come back and fix it.

Can storm damage to my gutters go through insurance?

Sometimes. Hail dents and wind-torn sections are often covered alongside roof damage. We photograph what we find and explain the steps, though your adjuster makes the coverage decision. Our Storm Damage Repair page covers the roof side of that process.

Is a gutter repair enough, or do I need a full replacement?

That depends on the metal and the wood behind it. When the aluminum has no splits and the fascia is firm, resealing the corners and resetting loose hangers can keep a run draining properly for years. We price the repair first and only suggest new gutters when the existing ones can't hold a fix.
